It is easy to get lost in life. With life being so busy, it can be overwhelming. It can be exhausting. It is easy to let one wrong thing effect your entire day. For example, this morning, my alarm did not go off. I have an 8:00am class, so my alarm is a pretty important part of my day. I woke up in a panic and was so stressed out. However, I pulled myself together got ready super quick and made it only a few minutes late. I didn't let this ruin my day. I accepted the fact that I couldn't change what had happened, figured out a plan, and moved on with my day.
When I was younger, I used to let the weather effect my mood. It still does a little bit but not as much. I would wake up and if it was rainy, I would be sad subconsciously. I wouldn't do it on purpose, it just happened. Now when I wake up, if it's rainy, I embrace it. I will go outside and just be happy that I get to live another day and experience this beautiful world. I will go lay out in the rain. I will jump in puddles. I will just enjoy all the little things.

I recently have started making a list of things I enjoy. Whether it be a movie or a snack that I enjoyed, I write it down. This is a pic of an Açaí bowl that I got one morning when I met my mom for breakfast. This is one of my all time favorite foods. They are so refreshing and just make me happy. In my journal of my favorite things, I wrote this down. Now, I not only think of Açaí bowls and how delicious they are, but I also now think of this fun memory with my mom. Just this little thing in life can bring me so much joy.
Some other little things in life that I enjoy are sunsets, car rides on back roads, movie nights, lemonade, and more. These things are so little and simple, yet they bring me so much joy in life.
I challenge you to make a little things list. Take a few minutes out of everyday to write down some little things that made you content and feel happy. Random things like a song that came on the radio this morning or the nice weather outside. Next time one of those things happen, you will remember how much joy they bring you. They can help turn your day around for the better. By remembering these little moments in life that make you happy, you can start to think of life in more of a positive light. Small, seemingly insignificant moments can provide the joy necessary to endure difficult times. It is the little things in life that bring us the most joy:)
