no rain, no flowers

This is such a powerful saying. No rain, no flowers. Although many people do not like rain and associate with negative things in life, it is necessary for our own growth. Rain is a needed resource for us to bloom and grow in life as humans. Good will sometimes come from the struggle, or rain storm, that you are going through. While rain isn't always our first option, we grow because of it. It it important for us to embrace and thrive in it as much has possible, and to use it to our advantage.

I know personally, I find it hard not to focus on the negative things going on in my life because life isn't the best right now if I am being completely honest. I have found it difficult to focus on anything slightly positive because my entire life feels like it is just a storm. However, I need to look at this from a long term perspective. Although I am facing a big storm right now, maybe flowers will bloom from it? Just maybe will something good will come from it.

2 Corinthians 1:4 states, "He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us." When you feel like you are drowning in the storm, look to God. Lean into Him and His goodness. Everything happens for a reason. He has a plan for you, it's now time to put your trust in Him.

If we didn't have rain, we would not have half of the beautiful things in this world. We would have no seas full of amazing ocean life. We would have no lakes to go on boat rides in. We would have no flowers to admire. Rain is necessary.

Accept the rain. Do not let the rain drown you in your own life. We cannot control the weather we face every day. We can not always make sure we have an umbrella. However, we can embrace and accept it. When it starts to pour in life, go dance in the rain! A little water never killed anybody. You will get past it. If you accept the rain for what it is, you can grow and progress.

Try and remember that there is beauty behind the rain in our lives, whatever struggle or hardship that may be. Either way, growth is hard. That's what this metaphor is all about. It is about overcoming this obstacle. It is about overcoming the struggles that we may face in our lives. It is about swimming in the flood of rain we may be given. You cannot control what may happen in life. But, you can control how you respond. So respond with grace. Respond in a way and mindset that will allow you to grow and bloom from the situation. Because without any rain, there would be no flowers.
