maybe in another lifetime?

I was up late the other night just scrolling on my phone, like every other teenager does. I often see videos of little dances or amazon hauls. Nothing ever too interesting. However, this time I saw a video that really stood out to me. It was this girl saying a phrase that I often hear:

"Maybe in another lifetime."

I probably hear this phrase more now than ever. At LEAST once a day. People often say "maybe in another lifetime" or "if it's meant to happen in will." They say this as a way of reassurance if something doesn't work out or go the way they exactly planned. If they are too scared to take the risk and get out of bed, "maybe in another lifetime" it will work out. "Maybe in another lifetime" it will happen for me. But do you even know what you are saying when you say this phrase?

What other lifetime are you talking about? This is it. We all only get one shot. This is literally all we get. Only one chance at life. One chance to make the most of it. One chance to chase our dreams and try to make the best out of it. One chance at now. You will never get to experience today again, so why wait?

Why wait for "maybe in another lifetime?" Get out of bed and do it. It is a lot easier than it seems I pinky promise you. Do not give up, take a deep breath and go. Send that text, Go out with your friends this weekend. Tell your friends and family how much you appreciate them. Go try new foods. Go tell them you love them. Go make the most of every minute you get. Every minute counts.

Live in the moment. Remain present in every step, because the present is a gift. All that we have is now, so let's make the most of it. Maybe in another lifetime? Maybe in THIS lifetime! It isn't always up to the universe to make things happen. It's up to YOU! YOU make decisions in your own life. YOU decide what happens.

Be kind. Because you only get this life once. Your life is not a game, you can't replay this. There are no "extra lives" in life. Don't hide behind your fears. Don't hide behind the "what ifs" that are constantly in your head. Don't leave any stones unturned if you felt the need to turn them over.

Remind yourself to remain present in every moment and to make the most of every single chance that you get, because you might not get this chance ever again. This is it. You got this. Maybe in THIS lifetime:)
