making lemonade:)

If you know anything about me, you know that I absolutely am OBSESSED with lemonade. Lemonade is quite literally the only thing I will drink, other than water of course. It is just so refreshing. It is the perfect combination of tangy and sweet. It pairs perfectly with any snack and any weather. You can never go wrong with the delicious drink! There is not one day that goes by when I do not have at least one lemonade that day.

I do enjoy lemonade because of how yummy it is. However, I also love lemonade because of its hidden meaning. One of the most popular sayings that I hear in life is:

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade."

You would be lying if you said you had not heard this phrase before. It can mean many different things to different people. But what does it mean to you? To me, this phrase is defined as a proverbial phrase used to encourage optimism and a positive can-do attitude in the face of adversity or misfortune. Lemons suggest sourness or difficulty in life; making lemonade is turning them into something positive or desirable.

Basically, when life gives you a rough patch, try to make the best of it. A wise friend once told me, "you can't control what gets handed to you in life, but you can control what you do with it." Read that again.

This phrase is so powerful. You cannot control everything that will be handed to you in life. That's just not how life works. However, you can try your best to make the most of it. Like this morning for example. There was a huge project I had due that night. I was so worried I would not finish it in time to go hang out with my friends. All I could do was worry. I was having such a difficult time with this assignment- it was such a sour lemon I was having to deal with. However, I didn't let it get to me. I pulled myself together and got it done. I even learned some new things along the way- my lemonade of the day!

Moral of the story is, try to look at what you are dealing with in a positive light. You never know how rewarding something may be until you get the chance to make lemonade out of it! Try to make the biggest, most refreshing glass you can!

Remember to try and look at life as a glass half full, rather than a glass half empty. Look at life as a bucket of lemonade rather than a bucket of lemons. Make the best of your situation! You are so strong and loved you can do it! Remember to always make lemonade and always give yourself grace:)
