Change. What a scary word. For me at least, I find that word terrifying, or at least I used to. Change is when something alters or becomes different. I'm not talking about like changing a tire, or changing the type of soap you use. I am talking about changes in life.

It is so easy for us to get comfortable in life. I have found that I absolutely LOVE routine! It makes me feel safe and busy because I know what is coming next in my day or week. However, sometimes routines change. We cannot always control what does and does not change in our lives or control whether or not we have a routine in general. That's the thing about life. It is always evolving. Always changing. There's always something new that comes in that you most likely cannot control.

I have found that change can often cause stress at first. It's unfamiliar. It's scary because it is new. You probably have never had to deal with a situation like this before. No matter how big or small the change may be, it will cause things to be different.

At first, you may be asking why this change is happening in your life. Why does this change have to happen now, why not somebody else? I often find myself asking those questions every single day. Why me? Why now?

One quote that I always look back on is about the perspective of change. Next time you find yourself anxious or worried about the changes in your life, try asking yourself this:

WHAT IS THIS TEACHING ME?

If you look at the changes in life and ask, "what is this teaching me" rather than, "why is this happening to me," you gain a whole new perspective on the idea of change. This allows a new way of thinkings. A positive way of thinking. This new mindset lets you seek out the knowledge of lessons you may learn and new opportunities you can gain from this change happening, rather than being worried or upset

It's important to try and look at life with a positive mindset. There's a lot of hurt in the world, but there is also a lot of good too. I know when life gets busy and overwhelming, it's hard to look at things with a glass half full, and easier to look at things with a glass half empty. But it's so easy to turn you day around just by changing your mindset on certain situations.

After changing my mindset, I have learned that change can actually be a good thing. Maybe not always having a routine everyday is the entire point of living. It reminds us to live life to the fullest because we do not know what will happen next. It reminds us to roll with the punches or whatever is thrown at you. Change allows me to learn and experience new things. Change in my life can be not only beneficial to me, but maybe even beneficial to those around me as well. As you look at your life now I ask you...

WHAT IS THIS MOMENT IN TIME TEACHING YOU?
